Do not take Triphasil if you are pregnant or you think you may be pregnant or nursing. Triphasil is in the FDA pregnancy category X, which means that it can cause severe birth defects in unborn babies or nursing infants.
During your treatment you should avoid smoking. Smoking greatly increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot formation.
Triphasil does not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV or AIDS. Using a condom is the only way you can protect yourself from these diseases.
More common Triphasil side effects may include: dizziness, headache, lightheadedness, stomach upset, bloating, or nausea.
Less common Triphasil side effects may include: severe depression, groin or calf pain, sudden severe headache, chest pain, shortness of breath, lumps in the breast, weakness or tingling in the arms or legs, yellowing of the eyes or skin.
