Precautions

It is important that the doctor has your complete medical history. Include all medications, prescription and over-the-counter, you are currently taking.

How to Use Plan B:

To obtain optimal efficacy, the first planb tablet should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours of intercourse. The second tablet must be taken 12 hours later.

Possible Plan B Side Effects

Plan B Precautions:

Tell doctor your medical history, especially: diabetes, possible pregnancy, unusual vaginal bleeding, allergies (especially to birth control pills). Tell doctor if your normal menstrual period is late by at least 1 week. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for more details. This medication passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult doctor before breast feeding.

Warning:

Smoking cigarettes while using this medication increases your chance of having heart problems. Do not smoke while using this medication. The risk of heart problems increase with age (in women greater than 35 years of age) and with frequent smoking (15 cigarettes per day or greater).
